Job Summary

Our quickly-growing company is in need of an energetic, driven Business Development Manager that will actively campaign for Vessl outside the office. This candidate will become our “road warrior”, tasked to grow and expand our technology across various industries. It’s critical that this candidate understands the many applications of Vessl and know how to leverage previously-existing, and or new professional relationships.

The opportunity for our patented technology cannot be understated because of its applicability across multiple fields. We’re looking for you if you have prior experience revolutionizing any of the following sectors: Beauty & Skincare, Household Cleaning, Beverage, Alcohol, Garden, Pharmaceutical, and more. Our Business Development Manager will be tasked with actively seeking new business—whether by way of cold-calling, otherwise reaching out to the appropriate individuals, and/or attending tradeshows and events to showcase Vessl to new customers.

This position is travel-heavy due to the nature of sales and business growth, so it’s critical that we select a candidate with a truly elastic schedule. We have Tier-1 clients in the US, EU and Japan that often require attendance for early morning or late night meetings, so flexibility is critical. As our Business Development Manager, your goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients. To excel in this role, you should be an individual that enjoys traveling and developing strategy, an active listener with a compelling sales personality, and a dynamite communicator that possesses a hunger to chase and close new business—from standard outreach to following up on inbound leads.

Business Development Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • Travel 80% of the time, meeting face to face with companies, securing and executing tradeshows domestically or internationally.

  • Manage multiple customers in different CPG verticals.

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing customers.

  • Development of a growth strategy that prioritizes both financial gain from new customers and customer satisfaction.

  • Conduct research to identify new market trends and respond to customer needs.

  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients and actively “cold-call” to introduce the technology.

  • Promote the company’s products/services, addressing or anticipating clients’ objectives.

  • Create and implement pricing and sales strategies (with quotes and proposals).

  • Lay out basic terms as a starting point for negotiating sales contracts, ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines.

  • Keep records of sales, revenue, invoices etc.

  • Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support.

  • Create and present promotional sales materials/decks/PowerPoints to potential customers, investors

  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite.

  • Time management, organizational and planning skills.


  • An undergraduate degree in Business Development or a related field or a minimum of 4 years’ experience in an outreach-oriented or Sales Executive role focused in Consumer Packaged Goods.

  • A proven track record in growing sales and developing new business.

  • Key knowledge, connections, contacts, or specialization in any of the following specific categories that will help leverage our technology: Beauty, Household Cleaning, Beverage, Alcohol, Garden, Pharmaceutical.

  • Flexibility for early morning and late night calls as needed depending on your network and clients’ schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency and/or fluency in Spanish, German, or Mandarin written/verbal communication is a huge plus.

  • An existing pipeline of relevant contacts you can access that might be interested in our technology.
