Rio and Kate Ferdinand’s surprisingly ordinary life in Bromley doing school runs and doughnut baking

Bromley locals, Rio and Kate Ferdinand, share much of their lives on social media. But whilst they may be a famous celebrity couples, they spend much of their time doing ordinary day-to-day things with their lovely family.

Former England footballer Rio started dating The Only Way is Essex star Kate in January 2017. The gorgeous couple then married in September 2019 with a picture-perfect ceremony in Turkey.

Rio was widowed in 2015 when his wife Rebecca passed away from cancer. After her and Rio began dating, Kate gave up her TOWIE career to help raise her step-children to be, Lorenz, Tate and Tia.

In December 2020, Kate gave birth to her first child with Rio, Cree. After her traumatic labor and emergency C-section, the 30-year-old vowed to have no more children.

According to The Talking Moose, dad-of-four Rio has an estimated net worth of £57 million. But the 43-year-old and his wife enjoy ordinary lives living in the London Borough of Bromley.

During lockdown, Kate began baking doughnuts and gained quite an interest on social media with her artistic creations. She then paired up with two business partners, Aimee and Lisa, to open her very own donut shop, Dolly Donuts, in Bromley.

Rio himself has even been spotted serving customers in the shop – far from his former life of kicking a football in front of thousands around the world.

Kate regularly shares adorable snaps of family life on her Instagram account, from ordinary activities like the school run to family trips to the toy store.

She also posts many pictures having cuddles with baby Cree and step-daughter Tia.

In November 2021, she shared a very honest post about the often tough realities of being a mum, something all mothers can relate to. She wrote: “Trying my best to be a good mum, wife, keep up with messages, remain fit, healthy & work is proving near on impossible! Something always has to give.

“I may not make the school run or workout every day, some nights recently it’s been a takeaway instead of home cooked food & there has definitely been no fresh lovely snacks cooked for Cree this week but that is life. It’s not perfect over here but if it gives me more precious time with these 5 it works for me.”

The family enjoy spending time together in their gorgeous Bromley home and the elder kids recently attended a Stormzy concert with Rio and Kate.
