3 Saki Hanajima’s Cinderella-ish Gown Is Gothically Romantic (Fruits Basket)
Though Fruits Basket centers around Tohru Honda and her encounters with the Sohma family, her friends Saki Hanajima and Arisa Uotani also feature prominently. While Tohru’s real family has passed, Hana-chan and Uo-chan prove that all it takes to become a true family is unconditional love and support.
Although it is not a major plot point, the three girls attend high school, where their class is asked to put on a play. They decide it do Cinderella and make the unusual choice for Hanajima to play the titular character. Hanajima stuns in a black gown with rosettes and a black choker that perfectly encapsulate her gothic beauty. Though she was not everyone’s first choice for the role, Hanajima became the quintessential dark Cinderella.

Though she was a rather vain princess, Yona develops into a fierce young woman as the story progresses. As such, her beautifully intricate robes are replaced with more sensible ones. Even still, this new look suits her perfectly. The red and pink hues make it stylish, while the cut is practical for traveling. This outfit works as a look into how Yona has changed since the beginning of the anime.

Violet Evergarden is the tale of a young woman named Violet as she tries to navigate the world after being a soldier in a terrible war. She also attempts to locate her caretaker, Major Gilbert Bouganvillea. Unfortunately, she finds out that he had lost his life in the war, but Violet still tries to understand his last words to her: “Kocham Cie.“
On her quest to find the meaning of love, Violet dons a flowing white dress. A blue, long-sleeved bolero jacket with puffed sleeves makes a dramatic statement, while a lace necktie adorns her collar. The look is completed by a gorgeous emerald brooch that was gifted to her by the Major. This outfit has become synonymous with Violet’s character and is one of the most beautiful outfits in all of anime.
